CISDI is set to supply the largest-calibre Assel tube mill in China to VALIN Hengyang.

This line will enhance a Φ720mm tube rolling line at VALIN’s base in the Hunan Province.

An annual 300,000 tonnes of high-end construction machinery tubes, with an outer diameter range of 273mm to 508mm, will be produced.

The new mill will be the largest calibre of its kind in China, where the maximum diameter currently produced is 460mm.

The seamless tube will be used in high-pressure boilers and structures, liquid transport systems and hydropost, petroleum machining, oil cylinder and crane jibs.

CISDI has long been a major player in the package supply and turnkey construction of tube rolling mills.

VALIN Hengyang Steel Tube Co. was established in 1958 in China’s Hunan Province. It has become a globally influential specialist producer of seamless steel tubes.

Its production processes cover ironmaking (one blast furnace in a volume of 1,080 cubic metres), steelmaking, flat and tubular products rolling, and three round bloom production lines.

VALIN Hengyang’s feature products are pipes for oil and gas, pressure vessels and machining. Its IPR-based products are HS hydrogen sulfide-resistant petroleum casing pipes.

CISDI built a Chinese-made, small-calibre mandrel pipe mill for VALIN Hengyang’s plant in 2019. This 3-roll MPM replaced an imported 2-roll tandem tube rolling mill. It exceeded its monthly production target within three months of startup.

Tubular products produced showed world-class technical and economic indicators for wall thickness precision, production yield and piece rate.
